Le groupe U2 se forme en 1976 lorsque Larry Mullen Jr., alors étudiant au Mount Temple Comprehensive School à Dublin, affiche une annonce pour former un groupe. Rapidement rejoints par Bono, The Edge et Adam Clayton, le groupe commence à se faire connaître dans les années 1980 avec des albums tels que **"War"** et **"The Joshua Tree"**, ce dernier propulsant le groupe à la célébrité mondiale.
