== Biographie ==
**Rush** est un groupe de rock canadien formé en 1968 à Toronto. Composé de **Geddy Lee** (basse, claviers, chant), **Alex Lifeson** (guitare) et **Neil Peart** (batterie, paroles) pendant la plus grande partie de son existence, le groupe est considéré comme l’un des plus grands et des plus influents de l’histoire du rock progressif et du hard rock.

Après des débuts modestes et plusieurs changements de line-up, le trio classique se forme en 1974 avec l’arrivée de Neil Peart. Rush se distingue par sa virtuosité technique, ses compositions complexes, ses textes souvent inspirés de science-fiction, de philosophie et de fantasy, ainsi que par ses performances live épiques. Le groupe a vendu plus de 40 millions d’albums dans le monde et a été intronisé au Rock and Roll Hall of Fame en 2013.

Neil Peart est décédé en 2020, mais Geddy Lee et Alex Lifeson ont annoncé en 2025 une reformation pour célébrer plus de 50 ans de musique avec la tournée « Fifty Something ».

== Style et Influence ==
Rush est reconnu pour son approche technique et progressive du rock, mêlant hard rock, heavy metal et éléments de rock progressif. Leurs morceaux, souvent longs et structurés en suites, sont marqués par la virtuosité instrumentale, les changements de tempo et les textes profonds écrits par Neil Peart.

Ils citent parmi leurs influences **Led Zeppelin**, **Cream**, **King Crimson** et **Pink Floyd**. Le groupe a fortement influencé de nombreux artistes dans le rock, le metal et le progressif.
