'''Green Day''' est un groupe de punk rock américain formé en 1986 à [[Berkeley]], [[Californie]]. Composé de [[Billie Joe Armstrong]], [[Mike Dirnt]] et [[Tré Cool]], le groupe est devenu l'un des groupes les plus influents de la scène musicale alternative et punk.

== Histoire ==
Green Day a commencé sa carrière avec la sortie de leur premier album, *39/Smooth*, en 1990, qui a été suivi par *Kerplunk* en 1992. Leur album *Dookie*, sorti en 1994, a propulsé le groupe au sommet des charts et a reçu un accueil critique favorable, leur apportant une reconnaissance mondiale.

Le groupe a continué à sortir des albums à succès comme *Insomniac*, *Nimrod*, et *American Idiot*, ce dernier étant un concept album qui critique la société américaine et la politique.
